Young Roma students are trained in local government administration and organization within the framework of a European support program implemented in the regions of Central Macedonia, Thessaly and Attica, the Hellenic Agency for Local Development and Local Government (EETAA) said on Monday. The "I do" pilot project is co-funded by the European Commission's Rights, Equality and Citizenship (REC) Programme 2014-2020, and provides for the education of young Roma with a view to becoming more active in managing issues and problems affecting their communities by submitting proposals to municipal and regional councils. Within the program's framework, EETAA organized a two-day educational program with the support of the Regional Association of Municipalities of Central Macedonia to train local government staff as advisors to young Roma in the context of running a Digital Youth Platform.
