Wholesale Trade Employees Decrease 40% in 2010-2012

The number of people employed in wholesale trade in Bulgaria fell by some 40% to 169,795 in the  2010 – 2012 period, according to data of the Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA).
The BIA attributed the drop in the number of wholesale trade employees to a significant decrease in the number of companies operating the sector, the Sofia news Agency (Novinite.com) reported.
In 2010, wholesale trade companies in Bulgaria numbered 26,566. This compares to a total of  1,787,000 wholesale trade companies in the EU that same year, which accounted for 28.72% of the companies in the trade sector.
