“The fact is that we have already started work on a strategic partnership with major tour operators, such as Thomas Cook and DER-Touristik, which mainly promote our market,” Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova said for BNT.
Commenting on the official statistics for 2015 summer tourist season, which shows a decline in tourists, Minister Angelkova said that the result has been predicted yet in the beginning of this year.
“The fact is that timely actions should have been taken in 2014. Now our main focus is summer 2016, so that to avoid this year’s negative results,” she said.
According to her, there is a chance for Bulgaria to achieve positive results in tourism next year, much better than this summer.
“We started targeted advertising and work with low-cost airlines, because for us it is important to provoke as many flights in order to provide for greater accessibility to Bulgaria as a tourist destination,” Mrs Angelkova added.
