A visit to Sofia by the Polish Defence Minister is expected by the end of August, Defence Minister Nikolai Nenchev said during the weekly meeting of the cabinet, as evident from the transcript of the meeting.
Asked by Prime Minister Boiko Borissov whether negotiations in the defence sector are going ahead and whether an agreement will be signed on repair works of jet fighters MiG 29, Nenchev said that the Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister will be in Bulgaria on August 27, 28 and 29. A memorandum of understanding and cooperation is expected to be signed. "Generally speaking, Bulgaria has finalized the negotiations.
They [Poland] have a procedure which sometimes takes time. I hope that everything will be finalized in the short term and the agreement will be signed," Nenchev said.
