US Assistant Secretary for European, Eurasian Affairs to Visit Bulgaria

US Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland will be on a brief visit to Bulgaria on Tuesday, January 19.
In Sofia, Bulgaria, Assistant Secretary Nuland will meet with senior Bulgarian government officials to discuss a range of bilateral and regional issues, including energy security and diversification efforts, defence modernisation and cooperation, as well as government reform efforts.
It is also possible for one of the issues discussed to be the visa regime with the USA. According to knowledgeable sources, the US Congressmen and Senators have worked out a draft bill on changes to the rules for its lifting.
At 3 p.m. Ms Nuland will meet with Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev.
