Measures against unfair trade practices in the food sector will be in the focus of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of EU. This has become clear at the hearing of Bulgarian Agriculture Minister Rumen Porozhanov at the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Parliament.
Porozhanov, who is the rotating chairman of the Council of the EU agriculture ministers, has said that "small farmers must be protected and receive a fair price for their products."
The other important topic for discussion in the sector during the Bulgarian EU presidency will be the EU Common Agricultural Policy after 2020.
