Unemployment Rate at 19.0 Pct in Q2, ELSTAT Says

The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) announced on Thursday the results of the Labour Force Survey for the second quarter of 2018. More analytically, in second quarter 2018: The number of employed amounted to 3,860,395 persons while the number of unemployed amounted to 905,983 persons. The unemployment rate was 19.0 percent, down from 21.2 percent in the previous quarter, and from 21.1 percent in the same quarter one year ago. The number of employed persons increased by 3.7 percent compared with the previous quarter and by 1.8 percent compared with the same quarter one year ago. The number of unemployed persons decreased by 9.5 percent compared with the previous quarter and by 10.9 percent compared with the same quarter one year ago.
