Turkcell Joins Turk Telekom in Bidding Race for Bulgaria’s Globul

Turkey's top mobile carrier Turkcell said it has filed a non-binding indicative offer for a 100% stake in the Bulgarian unit of Greek mobile phone operator Cosmote, Globul, joining the acquisition race alongside Turk Telekom.

The offer is part of an ongoing evaluation and analysis of investment opportunities in various countries, Turkcell said in a statement on its website.

Turk Telekom said on Wednesday it has submitted a non-binding offer to acquire a 100% stake in Cosmo Bulgaria Mobile - which operates under the Globul trademark, and retail chain Germanos Telecom Bulgaria as part of its international expansion strategy.

Cosmo Bulgaria Mobile and Germanos Telecom Bulgaria are fully owned by Cosmote, a member of Greece's OTE Group.
