Tsipras: SYRIZA calls for investigative committee on use of public funding 'to manipulate public opinion'

SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance has tabled a proposal in Parliament for an investigating committee "to examine all cases of using public funds to manipulate public opinion," its leader Alexis Tsipras said on Monday.
The main opposition leader explained that the proposal calls for investigating all cases such as the list of media outlets funded by the government to run ads for citizens early in the pandemic to stay home ("the Petsas List") and "polling companies whose owners are funded by the public."
He added, "New Democracy may have the majority votes, but will it be able to cope with [the proposal]?"
