It is very important to have a plan for the management of Pirin, Rila and Vitosha national parks in order to have clear rules about where and how tourism can be developed, Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova told journalists.
Her comments came in response to an action by environmentalists supported by 100,000 signatures for saving the national park of Pirin, a reporter of FOCUS News Agency reported.
There must be a balance in the development of economy in accordance with environmental laws, both European and national laws, the minister commented. According to her, solutions can be found in a dialogue when both the economic development and the protection of environment are being discussed.
The ministry is restarting a working group on mountain tourism where it expects to discuss the issues with non-governmental organisations, tourism sector representatives, mayors and MPs.
