The government does not intend to take universal prohibition measures, Gerapetritis reassures

The new regime for entertainment venues will start in a week and next Monday and Tuesday there will be detailed announcements by the competent ministers, when they will have all the digital tools at their disposal, State Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis said on Thursday in an interview with the radio station "Skai 100.3".

The government does not intend to take universal prohibition measures, he clarified, a decision which was based on two reasons: on the one hand the limits of the Greek economy, whose ability to withstand another such period is finite, and, on the other hand, the fact that the current phase of the pandemic is different to that of six months ago, and even more of a year ago.

This was due to the vaccines against Covid-19, he pointed out, which were a "universal good". The state takes care of all citizens but the freedoms of vaccinated people must be gradually restored, he added.
