Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is arriving on a two-day official visit to Sofia Tuesday accompanied by a sizable business delegation and his spouse Asma al-Assad.
Al-Assad is coming at the invitation of Bulgarian President, Georgi Parvanov.
The meeting's agenda between the two Heads of State includes an overview of bilateral relations after Bulgaria's EU accession, intensifying business, investments and trade, and issues in the Middle East.
Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, will host an official lunch in honor of al-Assad. The Syrian President will also meet with the speaker of the Parliament, Tsetska Tsacheva.
