Switzerland’s LEM Opens 1.5 Mln Euro Plant in Sofia - Govt Agency

Swiss-based transducer maker LEM opened a 3.0 million lev ($2.07 million/1.53 million euro) plant in Sofia, Bulgaria’s investment promotion agency said.
The construction of the new unit is in line with LEM's strategy to move production close to its European customers, as well as pull capacities from Japan and Switzerland to lower-cost countries, the InvestBulgaria agency said.
The plant for current and voltage transducers will initially employ some 40 people, and will double the number after six months. By 2018 the company plans to increase its employees to 400.
