A total of 598 Bulgarian households kept deposits exceeding 1.0 million levs ($631,000/511,000 euro) by the end of June, according to data from the country's central bank.
Deposits of over 1.0 million levs totalled 1.46 billion levs at the end of June, or an average 2.446 million levs each, Sofia News Agency (novinite.com) reported on Wednesday quoting Bulgarian National Bank data.
A year earlier, their number was only 492, as their average size was 2.454 million levs.
The average size of deposits at the end of June was 2,644 levs, compared to 2,331 levs a year earlier.
