Sofia Will Receive 238 Million Levs Grants under Regions in Growth OP 2014-2020: Mayor (ROUNDUP)
Sofia Municipality will receive 238 million levs grants under Regions in Growth OP 2014-2020, Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova said during a ceremony for signing of the investment programme of Sofia Municipality, a reporter of FOCUS News Agency announced.
She congratulated Minister Lilyana Pavlova, Deputy Minister Denitsa Nikolova on the opening of the operational programme Regions in Growth and said that this was due to the trust that European institutions put in the team of the Minister.
“I want to thank the Deputy Minister Irina Savina and her team, who worked for two years to prepare projects and units. We have structured teams and intermediate body and can start work," the Mayor said.
Mrs Fandakova said that the signing of the investment programme would provide means for positive change in the urban environment of the capital.
“Around 280 million levs, of which 238 million levs grants and the rest co-financing will allow us to modernise theatres, parks, public transport, etc.," Fandakova commented.
The Sofia Mayor pointed out that the capital investment programme provided for educational infrastructure projects - 26 schools and kindergartens.
