Sofia To Launch E-Government Services in May

Sofianites who hold an electronic card storing their personal digital signature and a digital uniform civil number (EGN) will be able to use 50 administrative services via the city's e-government system as of May, transport minister Ivaylo Moskovski said.

The e-card will cost between 20-30 levs ($14-21/10-15 euro), Moskovski told local TV channel TV7.

Cardholders will be able to request via the Internet birth and inheritance certificates, tax and fee receipts and site development plan changes among others. National bodies such as the National Revenue Agency and the National Health Insurance Fund, however, will still require their clients to be physically present at their offices.
