Sofia Tech Park, a high-tech park in the Bulgarian capital whose construction is due to start shortly, is expected to become operational by the end of 2015, the economy ministry said.
The first stage of the project will get 50 million euro ($62.95 million) in financing under the EU-funded Competitiveness operational programme, the ministry said in a statement on Monday. It did not quote a figure for the project's total estimated cost.
The park will cover an area of 270,000 square metres.
A company that will run the project, Sofia Tech Park, has been set up with a capital of 3.0 million levs ($1.93 million/1.53 million euro).
