Sofia Starts Construction of 6.9 Mln Euro Two-level Interchange

The construction of a 13.5 million lev ($9.5 million/6.9 million euro) two-level interchange in Sofia started on Saturday, Sofia's deputy mayor said.
The project is expected to be completed by the summer of 2014, news agency BTA quoted Luybomir Hristov as saying.
The construction of the interchange between the Peyo Yavorov and Stoyan Mihaylovski boulevards will take some six months, halting during January and February.
The project includes an 18-metre wide overpass with two 1.1 metre wide pavement areas, two seven-metre lanes and a two-metre dividing strip.
The project also includes the extension of a few streets near the interchange, as well as the construction of an underpass for pedestrians. After its full implementation, the project will allow for a direct connection between Cherni vrah boulevard and Sofia ring road.
