Sofia Is the Venue of Balkan Summit

In relation to the closing of the one-year mandate of Bulgaria’s rotational presidency of the of the Process for Cooperation in Southeast Europe, today and tomorrow Sofia is the venue of a meeting of presidents and foreign affairs ministers from ten countries. Bulgaria became the initiator of the Process in 1996 with the aim of encouraging dialogue and cooperation in the region. Seven Balkan countries and Moldova have so far confirmed their participation in the Summit in Sofia.
