The German Multivac, world leader in the manufacture of packaging machines held a groundbreaking ceremony for its future factory in Bozhurishte industrial zone near Sofia.
This is the biggest industrial investment in the region of the capital city for the year – in its first phase, a total of 18.8 million euro will be invested. The total investments, including the project’s second phase will be in excess of 35 million euro. The German manufacturer had to choose a location for its plant in Romania or in Bulgaria and opted for this country because of its highly-qualified experts, the financial incentives by the state as well as the lower taxes. The state zone in Bozhurishte is gradually being taken over by foreign investors – after the first Behr-Hella automotive components factory which opened last year, in 2016 the Danish JYSK furniture company decided to invest 100 million euro in a logistics support facility there.
