Bulgarian public transport company Stolichen Avtotransport, fully-owned by the municipality of Sofia, has invited bids for the supply of 126 natural gas-powered articulated buses and equipment for their maintenance, a public procurement notice indicated.
The procurement contract has an indicative value of 81.1 million levs ($55.5 million/41.5 million euro), net of Value Added Tax, a notice published on the website of the Public Procurement Agency indicated on Monday.
Bids have to be placed by April 4 and will be opened on the following day.
The project covers the delivery of 20 buses within six months after the signing of the contract with the remaining 106 buses to be delivered within 12 months after the contract is signed.
Financing is provided under the EU-funded operational program Environment and from the municipal budget.
