Sofia Bourse Blue-chip Index Rises 15.7% M/M, Turnover Up to 28 Mln Euro in Jan

The SOFIX index, which tracks the 15 most liquid shares on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE), rose by 15.7% on the month and reached 399.59 points at the end of January, the bourse said.

The BG TotalReturn30, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, increased even higher, gaining 17.4% to 302.73 points last month, the BSE said in a statement.

Total turnover on the regulated market went up by a monthly 33.5% and amounted to some 28 million euro ($37.9 million) in January, as a result of higher retail investor activity.

The main market's total capitalisation reached 4.14 billion euro at the end of January, up by 7.8% compared with the end of December.
