Sofia Airport passenger traffic up 59% y/y in Sept

Passenger numbers at Bulgaria's Sofia Airport jumped to 411,088 in September from 259,084 in the same month of last year, the airport operator said.
Aircraft take-offs and landings rose to 4,659 in the ninth month of 2021 from 3,324 in September 2020, the airport operator said in a data release.
Cargo handled at the airport went down to 1,658 tonnes in the review month from 1,889 tonnes a year earlier.
Traffic at Sofia airport slumped last year due to restrictions on international air travel introduced to limit the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
