Slightly over 16% of the Bulgarians Shop Online

A recent survey on the shopping habits of the Bulgarians reveals that 16.6% of our compatriots shop online.
Not surprisingly, young people aged 16 to 34 are the most active online buyers, while only 1.3% of the elderly Bulgarians know how to order goods online.
On the whole, Bulgarian women tend to be more active in online shopping than men.
When they shop online, Bulgarians mostly buy sports equipment and clothes, followed by household appliances, holiday packages and hotel bookings.
Most of the goods purchased online have been sold by Bulgarian vendors, but Bulgarians also shop from foreign vendors, both within and outside the EU.
The majority of the participants in the survey say they mostly make small purchases of up to 200 levs (1 euro = 1.95 lev) online.
