The National Social Security Institute (NSSI) will streamline the procedure for payment of sickness benefits in the beginning of next year.
As of January 1, employers will no longer be required to submit data for the previous month's income of workers on sick leave, the state-run Bulgarian National Radio reported.
The changes also provide for the sick notes to be filed at NSSI no later than the 15th day of the month.
However, the fine for employers who have not filed the sick notes of their workers on time will remain 1,000 levs ($664/511 euro) for each violation.
