Russian gas giant Gazprom is not considering lowering the price of natural gas supplies to Bulgaria, Sofia-based media reported on Wednesday.
"The price of Russian gas to Bulgaria is practically the lowest in Europe, that is, we are in fact delivering gas at a special price," business daily Dnevnik quoted Gazprom's head of exports Stanislav Tsigankov as saying.
For the time being, there are no prerequisites to discuss this issue again, he added.
Bulgaria imports almost all the natural gas it needs from Russia through a pipeline crossing the territories of Ukraine, Moldova and Romania. The country's gas monopoly Bulgargaz buys the gas from three intermediaries - Overgas, Wintershall and Gazpromexport, which in turn buy it from Gazprom.
