Romania Considers Building New Bridge to Bulgaria

Romania plans to build 'as soon as possible' a new bridge over the Danube river linking Zimnicea, in Teleorman county, to the Bulgarian city of Svishtov, Romanian prime minister Viorica Dancila said.
The project would be developed under a public-private partnership scheme, Dancila said on Thursday ahead of the cabinet meeting, according to a video file published on the website of the government.
"Today we will take an important decision on the construction of the bridge over the Danube at Zimnicea, a major investment for Romania and Bulgaria, but also for other countries in the area. It is a project that we decided to implement as quickly as possible with our friends south of the Danube and discussed it with Bulgarian prime minister Boyko Borissov," Dancila said.
