Residential buildings completed in Bulgaria in Q1 up 16.8% y/y

New residential buildings completed in Bulgaria increased by 16.8% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2021 to 925, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said.

The total usable space of newly built dwellings rose by 13.7% year-on-year to 407,500 sq m in the first quarter, the NSI said in a statement last week.

The highest number of residential buildings completed in the first quarter, 148, was recorded in Sofia, followed by the second-largest city of Plovdiv, with 131 dwellings.

Houses represented 72.6% of all new residential buildings completed in the quarter under review.
