Gas interconnector between Bulgaria and Romania will be built in the second half of 2016. Bulgarian Minister Temenuzhka Petkova announced the news, speaking at a sitting of the parliamentary committee on energy, REGNUM reported.
According to Petkova, a contractor was selected but no agreement was signed as the sub-contractor did not meet the requirements.
A new competition was held and Bulgartransgaz selected a new sub-contractor, which an agreement has already been signed with.
In the minister’s words, this is the Austrian company Habau, which is one of the biggest in Europe.
