Bulgaria’s regional development ministry said it may open a tender for the concession of Mokra Byala dam in the north-central part of the country by the end of the year, whose construction has been suspended. An unnamed investor has submitted an investment plan for the concession and the construction of the dam, regional development minister Desislava Terzieva said in a press release. The value of the prospective construction was not indicated. The design and construction of the Mokra Byala dam are planned to be completed within four or five years, she added. The project for the construction of the dam is strategic for the water supply in the area and is part of the region’s water master plan.
