Reformist Bloc to Become Political Union by End-Yr
Monday, 09 December 2013
The parties in the Reformist Bloc, an alliance of right-wing and centre-right parties which are not represented in parliament, have decided to become a political union by the end of the year.
"The parties in the Reformist Bloc made a commitment to sign a political union agreement by the end of 2013," Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB) leader Radan Kunev told a news conference, as quoted by the state-run Bulgarian News Agency.
Kunev described the agreement as a stepping stone to the bloc's successful participation in the European Parliament elections and possibly in early general elections in Bulgaria.
The Reformist Bloc brings together DSB, Bulgaria for Citizens, Blue Unity, the Union of Democratic Forces, the National Party Freedom and Honour, and the Bulgarian Agrarian National Union. The Green Party, which used to be a member of the alliance, has left it.
