Railway Infrastructure Co Awards 6.15 Mln Euro Rail Upgrade Deal to Local Co

Bulgaria’s state-run railway infrastructure company NRIC awarded a 12.04 million lev ($8.18 million/6.15 million euro) contract for the reconstruction of the Sofia-Mezdra railway line to a local company, a notice in the European Union’s procurement journal indicated.
The contract awarded to Trace Group Hold covers the rehabilitation and modernization of an 8.1-kilometre section of the rail line between Sofia and Mezdra, the notice published in the Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) showed.
The contract value was given net of value added tax (VAT).
Two companies submitted bids, the notice showed.
The works should be completed within 48 months.
