The earliest possible date at which a caretaker cabinet could be appointed and parliament dissolved is March 13, president Rosen Plevneliev said on Tuesday after the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) declined a mandate to form a government.
Last week Plevneliev said he would call snap elections on May 12 if DPS too, like GERB and the Bulgarian Socialist Party before it, opts not to form an interim government.
Plevneliev also said the caretaker cabinet would probably include three deputy prime ministers, as one would also be labour minister and the other minister in charge of EU funds absorption, the Bulgarian National Television reported.
He also said the finance minister in the caretaker government would not be deputy prime minister.
