The presidential and parliamentary elections will be held simultaneously on November 14, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev announced in Pleven. "This will save both money in the treasury and people's time," he said.
The head of state stated that he would dissolve the National Assembly as soon as possible in accordance with the requirements of the Constitution.
"I am a staunch supporter of the supra-party agreement and I will count on the support of all respectable Bulgarians," said the president, who will run for a second term.
According to him, the campaign will also be a guide for voters which parties and politicians are working for the future and which are defending corruption schemes.
As for a possible political project of the caretaker ministers Kiril Petkov and Asen Vassilev, the president said: "I support individuals, not parties, and I have not authorized anyone to speak on my behalf."
He added that he has known them for years and is convinced that he can count on them.
