GERB representatives have said they are going to immdiately return the mandates.
Next week, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) is scheduled to receive a mandate from President Plevneliev as the second largest parliamentary-represented formation.
The socialists have also confirmed that they are going to return the mandate.
The Bulgarian Constitution provides that the third candidate to try to form an interim Cabinet should be chosen by President Plevneliev himself.
He has been quoted as saying that he has to consider the options very carefully, before selecting a third candidate among the remaining parties in Plenary Hall.
