President Rosen Plevneliev, who stepped into office last month, appointed several new members to his administration, his press office said.
Plevneliev named Tihomir Stoichev, until now Deputy Mission Chief at the Bulgarian embassy in Washington, as his foreign policy secretary, the president's press office said in a statement.
Major General Stoimen Stoimenov (Ret.) will be national security adviser to Plevneliev. University professor Ivana Poushkarova will head the pardons commission, and professor Kiril Topalov, scientist, writer, playwright, literary critic, translator and diplomat, will serve as culture adviser to the president.
