Police Arrests National Electricity Company Ex-CEOs on Suspicion of Fraud

Krum Atanasov and Ivo Lefterov, former chief executive officers of the National Electricity Company, and Sabin Sabinov, head of Worley Parsons’ Bulgarian unit, were arrested on suspicion of fraud in a joint operation of the police and the state agency for national security on Friday, Trud daily reported over the weekend.
The National Electricity Company has hired Worley Parsons as an adviser on a controversial project for the construction of a second nuclear power plant in the country. 
The operation included a raid of the offices of Risk Engineering, a subcontractor for Worley Parsons, Trud reported.
No charges have been pressed against the three for the time being. 
The police is expected to come up with details on the operation on Monday.
