PM Tsipras Has Phone Contact with Turkish President Erdogan

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras late Saturday talked on the phone with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. According to government sources, the contact was held following Erdogan's initiative who thanked Tsipras for the Greek government and Tsipras' stance during the attempted coup in Turkey. The prime minister noted that the Greek people are committed to the principles of democracy and constitutional legality. The same sources said that on the issue of the passengers of the Turkish military helicopter, Tsipras said that the procedures that will examine the request for political asylum in Greece will be short but will be held with total respect to those provided by the international law and the treaties for the human rights.
