Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the city of Lavrion on Saturday and the local New Democracy party offices there, on occasion of the party's internal elections to be held nationwide on Sunday.
After emphasizing the fact that some 135,000 party members will be voting on Sunday, he said that New Democracy is "not just the biggest center-right party in Greece, it is the biggest such party in Europe."
"We will continue to work day-and-night to improve the lives of all citizens," he stressed.
"Using all the might of our arguments, we will repel the toxic climate that some are still trying to create, and who believe that the Greece of 2021 is the Greece of 2011," he added, and continued: "I ask you to say 'no' to all these new divisions. Together we must move forward. We do not have much to gain as a country when we are divided."
The premier noted that "we will continue to present our rich government work, and work even harder every day to create new jobs. To stand close to our most vulnerable of our fellow citizens, to offer our children the best possible education and opportunities after university. To improve the National Health System, to put the green transition into practice, and to protect this natural and cultural environment of ours."
