Prime Minister Kiril Petkov is to visit Skopje, North Macedonia today, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary since Bulgaria recognized the independent Macedonian state.
The Bulgarian Premier will be accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodora Genchovska and Minister of Transport Nikolay Sabev. The visit will mark a new beginning in the development of bilateral relations between Bulgaria and North Macedonia, and will map out the next steps the two governments will take to resolve the pending bilateral issues, the government press service points out.
“We should alter the perception of what it means for North Macedonia to be conducting negotiations with the EU, and, in future to be part of it. We should be talking about all benefits we, and North Macedonia will derive from this process,” Kiril Petkov noted.
