Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova met here Tuesday with Thomas Cook Group CEO Peter Fankhauser, said the government press office. Fankhauser is in Bulgaria on Angelkova's invitation.
Borissov reportedly told the Thomas Cook CEO that his government is working towards establishing Bulgaria as a competitive year-round tourist destination and is making dedicated efforts to advertise its rich cultural and historical heritage and remarkable nature. He also said that the government encourages businesses to offer high-quality tourist products and services.
Borissov and Fankhauser concurred that the policy of the Bulgarian government can match plans by Thomas Cook Group about investments in high-end hotels that can attract high-end tourists.
