PM Borissov: Government Earned 3 Billion Leva More in Revenues in 2015

"Thanks to the good work of the government, the services, agencies and all institutions involved, we had 3 billion leva more in revenues and aid in 2015," Prime Minister Boyko Borissov wrote on his Facebook page. Borissov gave charts showing that the government earned 32.213 billion leva in revenues in 2015, compared with 29.409 billion leva in 2014.
The increase is due mainly to higher tax revenues (up by 1.9 billion leva) and higher excise revenues (up by 500 million leva), he said. He thanked all government executives for their successful actions against smuggling and the immaculate absorption of EU aid.
"The year 2016 has seen impressive revenues, too - and again, this is largely due to the fight against smuggling," Borissov said.
