PES President Stanishev: Danube Transport Corridor Is EC Priority

The Danube Transport Corridor is crucial but its capacity is not sufficiently utilized, according to Sergei Stanishev, President of the Party of European Socialists (PES).
Speaking after a meeting with European Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc, Stanishev declared that the Danube Transport Corridor, which was part of the Pan European Transport Corridor VII, was of primary geopolitical importance for Europe.
Stanishev and Bulc discussed the priorities of the transport sector in the EU during the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, according to the press office of the PES President.
Bultc noted that the Danube Transport Corridor had huge potential and its development would be a priority for the European Commission.
Stanishev emphasized that the reindustrialization of Europe as a key to its economic development and increased competitiveness was essential to the Socialists & Democrats Group in the European Parliament.
