Pernik City Starts 11 Mln Euro Waste Management Project

Bulgaria's western municipality of Pernik said it has launched a 21.5 million lev ($14.2 million/11 million euro) project for the construction of a regional waste management system.
The project involves the construction of installations for sorting and composting of waste, allowing for their partial recycling and for the generation of energy at a future point, the municipality said in a statement.
The project is co-funded by the EU, the national budget and the municipality of Pernik.
