Pazardzhik City, Dutch Co Plan 110 Mln Euro Waste Management Project

The municipality of Pazardzhik, in the south of the country, and a Dutch renewable energy company are planning a 110 million euro ($144 million) joint project for a new waste disposal park.
The project involves the construction of installations for sorting, composting and recycling of waste, generation of energy and agro-parks, local daily Maritza reported.
The recycling facility will have a capacity to process from 70,000 to 140,000 tonnes of waste annually. About 50% of the total waste can be reused, 45% can be used as bio-fuel, and the remaining 3-5% will be delivered to the local landfill.
The project will create 420 jobs.
