Passenger Traffic in Greek Airports up 10.4 Pct in Jan-May

Passenger traffic in Greek airports grew rapidly in the first five months of 2018, totaling 16,261,853 passengers, up 10.4 pct compared with the corresponding period last year, the Civil Aviation Authority said in a report released on Tuesday.
 The number of flight in Greek airports totaled 145,316 (of which 67,367 were domestic and 77,949 international), up 6.4 pct compared with the same period in 2017.
 In May, passenger traffic totaled 6,321,770 passengers, up 17.5 pct, while the number of flights totaled 51,089, up 14.1 pct from 2017. International arrivals totaled 2,583,735, up 18.9 pct, while the biggest traffic in May was recorded in the airports of Athens, Heraklion, Rhodes, Thessaloniki and Chania.
 The airports of Kavala, Milos and Sitia recorded the biggest percentage increase in passenger traffic in the five-month period this year (increases of 122.5 pct, 78.7 pct and 77.6 pct, respectively).
