Parliament voting on committee to investigate former minister on TV licenses

A plenary discussion was completed on Tuesday afternoon, moving to vote on whether a preliminary investigation committee should be set up to investigate the role of former Syriza minister Nikos Pappas on granting television channel licenses in 2015 and 2016.

The proposal was initiated by 30 MPs of the ruling New Democracy party.

MPs are currently voting by secret ballot, either in person or through a letter.

Restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic oblige the 300 MPs to vote in groups of 50 every half hour. Results are not expected before midnight.
