National Assembly Chair Tsetska Tsacheva conferred with the President of Israel Shimon Peres, Parliament's Press Centre said. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Second Political Conference on "Democracy, Peace, Dialogue", organized by the Friends of Israel in the European Parliament.Over 500 statesmen, parliamentary heads, political leaders, MEPs and observers were in Jerusalem to discuss the current situation in the Middle East and the prospects for partnership between EU and Israel.President Peres congratulated the Bulgarian parliamentarians and MEPs participating in the forum and talked to Tsacheva. She familiarized him with the political situation in Bulgaria and the Government's priorities and briefed him on the upcoming presidential and local elections. Tsacheva noted that Bulgaria's accession to the Schengen Area is a leading priority so that the country could be a reliable EU border. She spoke about the favourable business environment in Bulgaria which offers good conditions for foreign investments, BTA reported.
