Harlem Déesir, the OSCE representative on freedom of the media, condemned the brutal murder of Bulgarian investigative journalist Viktoria Marinova and called on Bulgarian authorities to carry out a thorough investigation."I will closely follow the investigation opened by the authorities. I urge them to swiftly identify and bring to justice those responsible and to clearly determine whether this attack was linked to her work," Harlem Desir said in a statement on Sunday. The dead body of Viktoria Marinova, anchor and administrative director at TVN-Bulgaria channel, was found in a riverside park in the Danube city of Ruse on October 6, prosecutors said. Mladen Marinov, minister of the interior, said the victim was was raped and killed. All possible leads are being investigated, the ministry of the interior said in a statement. No suspects were arrested by October 7.
