The total number of nights spent in Bulgarian accommodation establishments in December 2017 was 833,300, up by 3.1% compared to a year earlier, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said. The greatest increase of 6.8% was observed in 3-star establishments. However, 71.3% of all nights spent by foreigners and 39% of those by Bulgarians were registered in 4- and 5-star hotels, while 3-star establishments registered 20.9% and 30.4%, respectively, followed by 1- and 2-star establishments.
The number of arrivals in all accommodation establishments increased 2.7% year-on-year to 430,400, with an 11.1% increase for foreigners and a decrease by 0.1% for Bulgarians. The arrivals of foreigners reached 116,700.
